District 2451 - Egypt

Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary Clubs are divided into 34 zones which include around 530 districts. Egypt formed its own District- Rotary District 2451 in July 2013. Before that it belonged to District 2450. The districting happened because Egypt started to have a big number of Clubs with high quality members. District 2451 includes about 40 Rotaract clubs between Cairo, Alexandria and other governorates. Rotaract stands for Rotary in Action. These are service clubs for young professionals and students aged 18-30, providing members with opportunities to foster leadership, responsible citizenship, promote international understanding and peace promotion and foster fellowship and goodwill.
